Civil Litigation

The backbone of the firm’s business is civil litigation. Even though the firm was founded in 1992, civil litigation has been Mr. Lonson’s primary focus since first becoming licensed by the Texas Supreme Court in 1980. Since 1992, the firm has been extensively—and almost exclusively—involved in two facets of civil litigation: tort litigation involving either personal injury or wrongful death matters; and business litigation. The firm has been involved in virtually all aspects of tort litigation, including premises liability, automobile accidents, aviation accidents, product liability, elder abuse, and medical malpractice. In this area we have represented both plaintiffs and, because of our reputation for effective and affordable representation, defendants who do not have insurance coverage to defend them. The firm’s experience in business litigation is extensive as well, including trade dress infringement, construction defects, disputes within corporations, partnerships, and LLC’s, real estate disputes, breach of contract, debt collection, insurance coverage issues, legal malpractice and fraud-related matters. In this field we have again successfully represented plaintiffs as well as defendants.

Business Transactions

With the firm’s experience in business litigation came the knowledge to assist clients with their business transactions. Thus, we also provide assistance in business formation, negotiating and drafting contracts, and maintaining compliance with the filing requirements of the various governmental entities. We have provided these services to a range of private for-profit and non-profit entities.
